Windows VPS for RDP in the USA: what actually matters

A dedicated Windows guest with Administrator RDP — not a shared farm. USA NVMe, honest sizing, and a clean first hour.

A Windows VPS for Remote Desktop is a full virtual machine you administer, not a seat on someone else's shared desktop. If you need a persistent USA desktop for remote work, Admin-only software, or a browser profile that stays put, that is the product.

What to require

  • USA region when your users or sites expect a United States path.
  • NVMe so the desktop does not feel stuck on disk waits.
  • Full Administrator with credentials issued after provision — typically about a minute on Noble VPS.
  • A public price sheet (Herald through Sovereign) so OS choice is not a hidden markup.
  • 7-day money-back on new orders so you can validate RDP quality without a quarter-long bet.

Sizing without folklore

  • Herald — light remote desk, a few tabs, quiet tools.
  • Knight (4 vCPU / 8 GB) — the default for everyday RDP: browsers, Office-compatible work, light IDEs.
  • Baron and up — heavier multitasking, more concurrent sessions, or memory-hungry apps.

Same resource table as Linux. Windows is a checkout image, not a different product line.

First hour after RDP connects

  1. Change the initial Administrator password.
  2. Restrict 3389 to known IPs in Windows Firewall when you can.
  3. Keep Network Level Authentication on.
  4. Patch, then install only what you need.
  5. Read the [RDP guide](/docs/windows-rdp) and [lockdown checklist](/blog/secure-remote-desktop).

Order path

Compare plans on [Windows VPS](/windows-vps), start with Knight unless you know you need less or more, then finish checkout in the client area. Questions before you buy: WhatsApp or Telegram from the [contact](/contact) page.
